Engine Woes Stop #74 as Bachetti Wins First of Season at Lebanon Valley

West Lebanon, NY - Another hot and steamy Saturday night at the legendary Valley of Speed. After a brief afternoon rain shower that partially flooded the infield that forced half the teams to park their haulers on the outside of the speedway, the racing finally got underway a little behind schedule. NBT Bank put up another $3,000 to win the 30 lap Modified feature event. On the front row was the #87 of Hector Stratton who darted out to the early lead. Stratton held a strong front line until a restart on lap 16 gave veteran racer Kenny Tremont Jr the opportunity to charge out front and take over the lead. But Tremont’s car just couldn’t stay together long enough as the Kokosa Oil Lap Counter clicked lap 25, Tremont was already pitside with a broken drive shaft. That handed the lead over to the hard charging Andy Bachetti aboard his #34B. Another late race caution just slowed the inevitable as Bachetti drove away from the field and scored the win. Stratton crossed the line 2nd, followed by Brian Berger, Donnie Corellis and Eddie Marshall.
